Cupping Therapy in Cranbourne
What is Cupping Therapy?
Cupping Therapy is ancient Chinese therapy technique used in Myotherapy.
A suction cup is placed onto the skin over the problematic muscle area. Using suction (by a suction pump) the cup then sucks the muscle up into the belly of the cup, stretching out the muscle. When the cup is removed, the muscle is more relaxed, allowing the therapist to be able to work in the area with more ease.
The marks left from cupping are not bruises. They are cupping marks, indicating toxicity due to the lymphatic system being stimulated. Toxicity can be from:
- An unhealthy or unbalanced diet.
- Alcohol or smoking.
- Scar tissue breakdown.
- Repetitive movement (work or gym).
- Muscle strain.
From a scientific standpoint, cupping therapy is known to have the following benefits:
- Help activate the lymphatic system.
- Promote blood circulation.
- Aid in deep tissue repair.
- Reduce pain and muscle tightness.
